Who Am I?

I am a mental health advocate and a voice for the vulnerable. I am a proud Marine Corps veteran who served as a Platoon Sergeant before it was cool to promote women in the military. I am a resilient recovery rock star enjoying a sober lifestyle with more than 30 years experience with both recovery and relapse. I am a follower of Christ who believes in the power of love and redemption. I am a black cat enthusiast. I am Bethany Heinesh—the one and only!

What Do I Do?

I specialize in creating compelling, well-researched blogs and articles that educate, engage, empower, and entertain audiences. Through thoughtful storytelling and strategic content creation, I aim to inspire meaningful conversations and drive positive change about mental health and addiction recovery. By sharing my ongoing struggles and highlighting my personal victories, I hope to be a Light in a dark world.

Why Me?

With more than 15 years of experience as a professional writer and former newspaper editor, I have written more than 500 articles about mental health. I have a Master’s of Arts in Administration-Communication Arts from the University of the Incarnate Word and a B.A. in Public Relations (Minor Religious Studies) from the University of Houston. I am authentic, genuinely considered about the greater good, and passionate about what I do.
